Only if you are a fool who absolutely has to have the word "HYBRID" on their car.

Most Jetta buyers would instead opt for TDI.

Buy the TDI or a used SportWagon TDI.

Is that the Jetta Hybrid? I've heard that thing is pretty damn fun to drive actually. Especially before the 2015 (or is it 2014? I can't keep model years straight) refresh where it had a lot of the suspension and brake components of the GLI that were missing from the base Jetta (like all 4 disc brakes and IRS).

For the poeple who want fuel efficiency in their Jetta. They'll get the TDI.

For the poeple who want HYBRID on their appliance. They'll get that and not a Prius because they are hipsters.

This makes me sad...

I didn't get the VW bug. They have just never really appealed to me. I never thought they were all that great looking, (exceptions for the Sirocco, maybe the Corrado) and I never thought that they were all that great of a performance value. Lots of bucks for not a lot of bang. What did I miss?

Yes, it is the hybrid. I'm not sure which year it is either. I think it's the latest refresh.

There are three SportWagons in my neighborhood, all TDI.

Screw hybrid, buy TDI.

Screw efficiency, buy GLI and enjoy it.

Ah if you are looking for fuel economy, driving city mainly a hybrid is technically better but if you do a majority on the highway a diesel will be best. If I wanted max MPG in the city I would buy a used low mileage 3rd gen Prius and tint the windows really dark. Take the remaining 15k and buy a miata or something else to enjoy.

My dad bought a TDI, it's a 2012, most boring cheap interior I have ever been in. He did get it in manual though so. I was taught to drive stick on this car.

Yeah, unfortunately they de-contented the interiors on the A6 Jettas to make them more price competitive with the appliancemobile competition, the Golf interiors and the older Jetta interiors are actually nicer.

I would better classify it as timeless. In the next 10 years, it will look damn better than the interior of a Cruze.

I can see your point, I had to look up the interior on the cruze, the center portion down to the gear shifter is just.. meh. I like the guages but hate that middle screen. (I am biased so...) I feel that the Mazda 6 guages are the way to go, but I understand that I'm beyond nit picky, and hard to please.

New Mazda gauges are Excellent. But the 3s gauges are all wrong.

Sport Model has a center Tach, but is ONLY automatic

The base model with the manual has the Tach in a minuscule digital display and is smaller than a rats digestive system.

I actually have a loaner Mazda 3 right now, my 6 is getting the fuel canister replaced, and the automatic has a digital tacho, with a huge speedo in the middle. Which, I DO NOT like this gauge.

The little thing it does during turn on is nice though.

Though this whole gauge reeks of cost cutting to me, there is no "cover" over the guages, only one over the speedo, everything else is exposed, both screens and the idiot lights at the bottom, it's tiny and just blah. I was excited to get this as a loaner but I can not wait to get my car back. The cheap plastic, cheap fabrics and the center of the dash is awful. Granted it IS a base model so I shouldn't be so hard on it, it's fun to drive and that is honestly what counts, getting 32 mpg while driving like an ass is a plus too. It handles a lot better than the 6, but I suppose that it's mostly because of the wheel base. Not that the 6 handles bad anyway.

Haha exactly my point! Mazda couldnt have done it more incorrectly! And you are the first person to have noted that the interior is filled with cheapness. Though the mags always get the fully loaded one. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you get your 6 back ASAP
